What we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

What we collect
We collect two kinds of information. The first is what you type into a form on this site: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, your preferred language, and whatever you write in the message or notes field. The second is basic technical information your browser sends with every request, such as your IP address and the page you asked for.
We do not ask for identity documents, payment details or any special category of personal data. Please do not send them.
How we use it
We use what you send to answer you. If you fill in the trip planning form, we use your season, group, interests and notes to write a route suggestion for your dates. If you use the contact form, we use it to reply to your question.
We do not sell your data. We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked a question, and we do not pass your details to hotels, guides or operators unless you ask us to.
Forms and enquiries
Every form on this site is sent to our own server over an encrypted connection and stored in a database. The submission record holds the fields you filled in, the time it arrived and the IP address it came from. Nothing you type is published on the site.
If you send a message by mistake, or want it removed, write to us and we will delete it.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not build a profile of you across other websites.
Your language choice is stored in your browser's local storage so the site opens in the same language next time. It stays on your device, it is not sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Third-party services
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and Google sees your IP address as part of that request. Everything else on the page — the styles, the scripts, the images and the map — is served from this site.
Our hosting provider processes requests on our behalf and keeps standard server logs.
Every photograph published here is licensed or cleared with the person who made it. We store the source, the licence and the credit for each file, and the credit line appears beside the image.
The text, layout and design of this site are our own. Region and destination names follow the country's official regional structure, which is a matter of geography rather than copyright; no third-party text or design has been reproduced. If you believe an image here is yours and is not correctly credited, write to us and we will correct or remove it.
Data retention
Form submissions are kept for as long as the conversation is useful, and for up to twenty-four months after the last message. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then rotated out.
If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to us keeping it at all. We do not charge for any of this and we will answer within a reasonable time.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Contact
Send privacy questions through the contact form and mark the subject as "Something else". Write in Hebrew, Russian, English or Georgian.
If this statement changes we will update the date at the top of the page.
Ask us about your data
Corrections, copies and deletions are handled by the same people who answer everything else.
